Aims: This one-day module will develop the participant’s knowledge of the surgical and restorative principles in relation to implant treatment. Participants will study the clinical aspects of successful treatment planning and learn the basic requirements needed for an implant site. This module will cover; patient selection, indications for implant treatment and preoperative case treatment planning with an emphasis on the surgical and restorative steps to ensure optimal treatment outcomes for tooth replacement with dental implants. The module will offer opportunity for simple case discussion and hands-on training with models.

Speaker bio: Paul Swanson received a Master of Science degree in Implant Dentistry f rom Queen Mary University of London. He owns a specialist referral practice in Liverpool and contributes to the multidisciplinary cases done by his team. Paul mentors’ dentists at both entry level and advanced implantology and contributes to study clubs in his region.
He is a former tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons Diploma in Implant Dentistry and the ITI Study Club Director for Liverpool and is the co-director of IDEAL - an organisation running dental courses for all members of the dental team.
