Speakers Name: Dr Kiran Shankla

Speaker Bio : General Dentist with special interest in Restorative Dentistry
Kiran has an interest in restorative and minimally invasive dentistry. She graduated in 2013 from the University of Birmingham after which she completed two years of training followed by a year abroad in Australia. In 2017 she embarked on a part-time Restorative masters at UCL Eastman which she successfully completed with a merit and was fortunate enough to get her dissertation project published internationally in the Journal of Dentistry. She recently won Best Young Dentist for the South-East at The Dentistry awards and has been appointed a Key Opinion Leader for DMG. She has had her case studies published regionally and has lectured internationally on the treatment of white spot lesion. She has a particular interest in white and brown spots lesions and gets referral in practice for the treatment of these complex lesions.

Aims & Objectives: Aim This one-day hands on event will provide delegates with an in‐depth knowledge of tooth whitening and dental bleaching to achieve successful results. Participants will also learn how to undertake effective resin infiltration for treatment of white spots on anterior teeth and diagnose enamel caries using A.I technology and the treatment options for early white spot lesions on posterior teeth with a hands-on demonstration and practical.

Objectives • Learn how to undertake resin infiltration for simple intermediate and advanced resin infiltration treatment • Learn the techniques required for successfully anterior and posterior rubber dam isolation • Learn how to assess the indications and the contraindications for resin infiltration techniques for anterior and posterior teeth • Participate in a practical session undertaking the steps required to treat early interproximal caries and removal of white spots on anterior teeth • Learn how to use Peral AI to help diagnose interproximal enamel caries. • Review the scientific basis of bleaching, having acquired knowledge and understanding of the process • Identify the different dental bleaching techniques • Undertake effective whitening treatments for their patients

In the event that the course is cancelled in its entirety, due to a Force Majeure Event, a full refund will be issued by Dentex to the delegate. Where a lecture or hands on session is cancelled due to a Force Majeure Event, but the course in its entirety is not cancelled, Dentex shall in its discretion issue a refund to the delegate on a pro rata basis. No refund will be issued in relation to any travel costs incurred by the delegate where the course has been entirely or partially cancelled. No refund, including travel costs, will be issued where the course is rescheduled at a later date. A Force Majeure Event means any act, event, omission, cause or circumstance not within the reasonable control of the party in question, including without limitation (i) any civil commotion or disorder, riot, invasion, war or terrorist activity or threat of war or terrorist activity, (ii) any action taken by a governmental or public authority of any kind (including not granting a consent, exemption, approval or clearance), (iii) an event of national significance (including any day of national mourning), (iv) any fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, or other natural physical disaster; (v) epidemic or pandemic; (vi) any government or local authority guidance. Dentex reserves the right to vary, at its discretion, any of the lectures, hands on sessions, speakers or dates listed in the course brochure at any time.
The delegate acknowledges that the course fee has been provided at a discounted rate to the delegate on the basis that they are an associate of Dentex and will continue to be an associate of Dentex. If the delegate leaves Dentex within 6 months of taking the course, the following charges shall apply:

  1. Leaving within 3 months will lead to an additional fee of £2500
  2. Leaving within 6 months will lead to an additional fee of £1000. “Additional Fees” The delegate confirms and agrees that Dentex can deduct the Additional Fee from the delegates’ associates pay, any shortfall not deducted from associate pay shall be repaid by the delegate to Dentex prior to any leaving date. CPD points will be issued on a pro rata basis to the delegates by Dentex in relation to the lectures or hands on sessions attended by the delegate. Dentex will issue CPD certificates to the delegates to mark the end of the course. Dentex accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of attendance of any lectures or hands on sessions that form part of this course. Dentex shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations in relation to the course where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Dentex’s liability to the delegate for any cause whatsoever, and regardless of the form of the action, will at all times be limited to the amount paid by the delegate to Dentex for the course.
